Joined Indian team in 1971

One of the greatest opening batsman of all time

Achieved India’s highest test score of that time, IND vs West Indies

He was the first to get 10,000 test runs and 30 centuries

He was the part of 1983 World Cup team

Retired in 1987

 

Post Retirement:

He slipped on to the role of television commentator and columnist. Later he also served as ICC Match Referee, BCCI President and Chairman of ICCI.

Even after all these years, passing down Sachin, Dhoni, and Kohli era, Indians still reminiscence those bright “SUNNY DAYS”…
